When you go out on the water in a boat, you look forward to a relaxing time, taking in the sights of the water and spending time with friends and family.
You know you’ll see some fish or two, depending on how far out you go on your boat. But one group of boaters got an uninvited guest that made for a boating trip they’ll never forget.
Let’s set the scene.
You’re on your boat and everyone is having a great time. You see a pod of dolphins jumping around and think, oh how cute! And then that cuteness gets closer and closer until…
A dolphin jumps onto the boat!
This big guy was a bit lost when he took the leap onto the boat. We don’t know where he thought he was going, but these people certainly had a situation on their hands, to say the least.
While everyone was trying to figure out what to do, there was someone who definitely took out their phone to videotape the whole incident. After all, if it’s not recorded, it didn’t happen, right?
The dolphin starts flapping around as people are screaming, trying to figure out what to do.
After all, it’s not every day that a dolphin jumps onto your boat. Everyone tries to get as far away from the dolphin as they can, but they are on a boat. If they decided to jump in the water, they’d probably meet his dolphin siblings. So, that’s really not an option either.
After a few minutes, you can tell the dolphin desperately needed to get back into the water. That’s their habitat and without being in it, they’re not going to survive at all.
Other boats saw what was happening and came over to help. Another boater hopped into the boat to help the dolphin. He took wet clothes and draped them over the dolphin. While this may not have been the most ideal solution, there was nothing about this situation that was ideal. You just do what you gotta do!
They tried to move him, but have you ever tried to move a dolphin? It’s not an easy job.
That’s when another boater jumped on board to help with the heavy lifting. Two people weren’t enough for this job. They needed more help. Some other people got in on the action. Within minutes they were able to throw the dolphin overboard and back to his natural habitat. By this time, several other boats were circling around to see what was going on.
As we said, it’s not every day you see a dolphin on board a boat.
But once the dolphin got back into the water, it was business as usual. He started swimming and eventually found his friends and family.
If these boaters learned anything on this trip, it was that dolphins can jump on your boat at any time and that it takes several people to get it back to safely. They also quite the story to tell once they got back on shore.
