It’s not everyday that we see a completely white animal. Well, actually, it’s very, very rare that we’ll ever see one in our lifetime.
Why? Rare genetic mutations are the only way animals can be born lacking the regular color of its species. Sometimes, they can be albinos, which lack all pigments and have white fur and reddish-pink eyes. Other times, they can be leucistic, a condition in which there is a partial loss of pigmentation resulting in white or pale coloration of the skin.
The animals photographed below are almost impossible to find in the wild as their color makes them extremely vulnerable to predators.
