First time parents are often fazed by the concept of the “terrible twos” since the phrase itself suggests a difficult stage in child rearing. On the contrary, it’s far from terrible judging from the heartwarming and delightful anecdotes shared by moms and dads who have more experience.
In fact, if you read blogs, articles, and books written by happy moms and dads, they actually call the toddler stage their favorite.

Toddlers are adorable little humans with intense curiosity. They’re starting to discover more and more things about the great big world they’re in. It’s like one adventure after the other just waiting to unfold.
That’s why they want to do a bit of everything all at once.
Add to that the struggles of overwhelming emotions that they have zero understanding of, hence the phrase “little people, big emotions”. They think they’re independent enough to get things done without help. And sometimes that’s true, but there’s no stopping mom and dad from showing guidance and support.

They’re fun, talkative, and have so many tricks up their sleeves that it can be a bit hard to keep up. Basically, having a toddler is an adventure all on its own. And it really is true what they say: enjoy it.
Enjoy every moment, no matter how challenging, difficult, and frustrating, because they’ll be grown before you know it.
Time flies so quickly that the only thing we can do is savor each moment spent with these little ones. And since we’re on the subject of how wonderful the toddler stage is, here’s more reason to love and appreciate having toddlers around.

These twin boys seem to be in deep conversation about something of extreme importance, in toddler standards. Snacks? Cartoons? Play time? Naps?

Check out the relaxed stance of each little boy, mismatched (and missing) socks and all.

They’ve even got a lot of non-verbal gestures going on! Check out those adorable cues.
What a conversation they must be having!

While us grownups may not understand what these two are saying, there’s no denying how entertaining and endearing it is to see those smiles and hear those giggles. And honestly, just by looking at them, you just know they’ve got the whole chill vibe going on – a giveaway that it’s a really fascinating conversation.

Watching these two animatedly talk in the kitchen with their nappies and striped socks is enough to make you wish that toddlers came with subtitles or thought bubbles.

How comforting and refreshing it would be to find out what goes on in a toddler’s head.
They’ve got so many adorable ways of expressing themselves, too.

So whether you’re a parent, a sibling, an aunt, or a curious spectator, let these two remind you that toddlers don’t mean to be “terrible” or “difficult” when challenging times present themselves. They’re incredible humans trying to take it all in. They thrive best in environments that overflow with patience, love, support, and attention.
The next time you’re in the presence of a toddler, don’t forget to enjoy every bit of it all: the babbling, the confusion, the giggles, and the disarming grins they’ve mastered.
