When ladies are swiping through Tinder, there are usually a few standard things we look for in their potential partners. Height, facial structure, occupation, location, hobbies and interests… These are all important things that catch a potential lover’s eye.
But if you are 24-year-old Natasha Reid, you might just be intrigued by a man’s taste in decor.
Hailing from Surrey, Natasha was scrolling through Tinder when she came across a particular man who caught her eye. She was super impressed by Lee’s photos, as he appeared to be posing in a very stylish home.
Lee, who is 28-years-old, had one picture of him reading a book in his “library.” He had other photos of him tucked up in bed with a toy and just doing some casual painting. Any woman would swoon.
And Natasha was definitely swooned. So after Lee made it through to the next stage – the bio reading – Natasha was shocked. In his bio, Lee described himself as a “fan of taking photos in IKEA.”
This made Reid, who is a full-time carer, hesitant. However, she admits that this easily made Lee one of her most memorable Tinder matches to date. Rightfully so, too. I mean, how many people do you see posing in IKEA for every single one of their dating profile shots?
It’s 100 percent a good way to stand out on Tinder. Even if he and I never go on a date, he will definitely get one with a profile like that.
I can’t even remember some of my other matches, so I think this one will stay with me. Rightly so, as well – he deserves it.
At first I didn’t understand what they were because they just seemed like really odd pictures. Then it dawned on me that all of the furniture looked amazing in this place.
One would think that the hanging price tags would give away the fact that he is in IKEA, but it went right over Natasha’s head! She must have just been so head-over-heels in love. ‘Cause you know what they say — love makes you blind.
Natasha found Lee’s love for IKEA to be endearing, so she did what any fellow IKEA-lover would do and swiped right. She told him that his photos made her day and he responded saying that he was very proud of them. I mean, it is clear that he put a lot of effort into it.
One of her favorite photos is of Lee sitting on a toilet — but do not worry, his pants are still on. He is in a furniture store, after all.
The way he’s looking in surprise and he’s got his hand over his mouth like he’s just been caught on the toilet is really good. I think IKEA should take him up on being a sort of live mannequin because he pulled it off very well.
You see all the same types of pictures on Tinder. You have the ones with the guys in their group of friends and guess which one is them. You have the cringey ones with their tops off. It’s nice to see someone taking the mick.
The two are still chatting together and Natasha is already dreaming up a potential first date. She shared that if they were to go on a date, she’d love to go to IKEA. Moving too fast? It’s not what you think! She wants to go to the store so that they could recreate the IKEA date scene from 500 Days of Summer. Aw.
