What would you do if you were a teenager and your mom cut your allowance by 80%? Would you be mad, sad, angry, disappointed, or bummed?

For 15-year-old Nicolette Gray, she was beyond mad and disappointed. For her, it was the end of the world. Her mom cut her allowance from $5,000 a month to $1,000 a month and now she’s forced to “live like a peasant.”

She and her mom, Dr. Nina Gray, went on the Dr. Phil Show because Nina needed help with her daughter, Nicolette’s, “brattiness.”

“Nicolette is extravagant, spoiled, and bratty. She is beyond entitled,” Nina said on Dr. Phil. “[She] has always had the best of anything and everything.”

With a $5,000 monthly allowance and a credit card with no credit limit, Nicolette believed she was entitled to everything, including a brand new 2018 Mercedes G Wagon worth $150,000.

Nina admitted that to avoid drama, she gives in to Nicolette’s pleas and demands.

“My daughter totally guilt trips me,” she admitted. “I just don’t want the drama so I give in. I give my bratty daughter everything she wants.”

Nicolette was the one who wrote to the Dr. Phil show but Nina agreed they should go on the show. She couldn’t control Nicolette anymore and she needed help.

Nicolette wrote to Dr. Phil and said she couldn’t deal with the abuse and it had to stop.

“My mom raised me with everything I’ve ever wanted, and she needs to continue. It’s the only life I’ve ever known,” Nicolette said on Dr. Phil.

When Nicolette joined Dr. Phil and her mom on stage, Dr. Phil asked her what she wanted to tell her mom.

“I want my mom to understand that I can’t live off of $1,000 a month. I grew up [with] a certain lifestyle [and] she can’t just take that away from me immediately… I grew up on it. It’s all I’ve ever know,” Nicolette said on the show.

The last straw came when Nina had to pay off around $100,000 in credit card payments and that’s just from Nicolette’s spending alone. She blows off at least $1,000 a week with shopping or going out with her friends.

All her life, Nina has given her everything.

She has her own driver, her own nanny, and her own personal trainer. She has multiple credit cards and has lots of designer clothes, bags, and shoes. Plus her mother takes her and her younger sister on five-star luxurious vacations.

But Nicolette continues to push her limits and spend like there’s no tomorrow. And her mother has had enough and decided to cut her allowance by 80%.

Nicolette couldn’t believe what her mother was doing.

“I feel like a peasant. I can’t live like this anymore. I’m always out of money,” Nicolette said.

Dr. Phil asked her what she wanted from her mother and what would make the situation better.

“I need her to understand that I need at least $2,500 a month,” she declared. “I have to do everything myself. I need the funds for that.”

She also told Dr. Phil that she doesn’t have any plans for her future. She doesn’t want to get a job because she doesn’t want to work. She just wants to be rich.

Nina admitted that she had indulged her daughter too early for too long. But now, she wants to make it right.
