Shoes. If there’s one fashion item that’s fascinated people since ancient history, it has to be shoes. From barefoot, to Roman sandals, and military boots, shoes say a lot about its time and the people sporting them.
And like the rise and fall of civilizations, shoe styles rise and fall as well. These are footwear that have gone out of style, plus the knowledge of what’s fresh and trending today.
OUT: Gladiator sandals
There was a time these were in style, but those days have passed and a new fresh look is in.

IN: Flat rounded sandal
These are still open and with studs to catch your eye, if that’s your thing, but they look so much better and are definitely more stylish than those sandals of biblical proportions. Literally.
OUT: Cheap rubber flip-flops
Comfortable, sure. Great around the house, yes. And that’s where you leave this flip-flops. Or at least leave a pair in the car should your shoes break, but that’s about it.
IN: Leather slip-on
You can slip these on just the same but they will surely go with whatever it is you’re wearing without looking… well, outdated and sloppy. These work with any outfit, for real.
OUT: Dad sneaker
The only guy who can rock these in public is famous director George Lucas. That’s because he gave us Star Wars. But other than that, they just aren’t in style any longer.
IN: Retro inspired sneaker
If you want sneakers, go for these retro looking kicks that look so good with pants or shorts.
These are super comfortable and will fit you well for those long days out.
OUT: The round toe
Are these still in use? They almost look like an artifact of an era long gone and for good reason. And maybe they’ve been long forgotten for good reason too.
IN: Square toe
Cute, colorful, comfy. Plus they look way better than those round toe heels in the previous slide.
Square toe heels are pretty popular too. And you can choose among different colors. Cute, right?
OUT: Wedge boot
There was a time when women of almost all ages rocked these. It was like Medieval met modern but had a drink along the way. It was a hit or miss thing, but you shouldn’t miss these anymore.
IN: Lace boot
These elongate your legs and can give some height just like the wedged ones. Except these lace boots look so much more 2022 and even 2023.
These boots will go with dresses, jeans, and even shorts for a funky look.
OUT: Crazy patterned rainboot
These were a thing for a time with their bright colors trying to usher in the sun back again. But, no longer, time to put them away until they roll back into style again.
IN: Black chelsea style rain boot
The matte finish is more subtle, and the length doesn’t scream at people. The best part is that these are stylish and functional should you get caught in bad weather.
And they’re not expensive.
OUT: Anything “peep toe”
Anything that peeps is out. They were cool for awhile but these fizzled out in time for some reason. Maybe getting 2 toes freezing wasn’t fun.
IN: “V” accent flat
No toes peep out but that V shape gives your feet a sleek look. The back part keeps your feet breathing without sacrificing style and comfort. Plus they are so easy to slip on and remove.
IN: “V” accent boot
Here’s another V this time as a boot. Cute, and even sexy, since they look so chic. Again, no toes are peeping but these just look so modern and stylish especially in this color.
OUT: Ballet flats
They’re a sort of classic that comes and goes out of style since, well, it’s ballet I suppose. Some do still wear these in public but that’s all down to personality and preference.
IN: Classic loafer
If you want classic, you can’t go wrong with the classic loafers. These have endured the many changes in style for good reason. It’s always good to have a pair. Or two because these are so nice to have.
