Being a Mom is never easy. Whether you’re a full-time Mom or a working Mom, the struggle to keep everything together for your family is definitely real.
And since nobody is perfect, all Moms have their own shining moments and their share of “mom fails”. One mother, in particular, had an epic and freaky fail that almost made her faint in fright!
It was in the middle of the night and everything around Angela Kelsay was dark. Suddenly, this mom of a two-year-old heard the door of her room creak open. And, what she saw in the dark nearly gave her a heart attack!
From the direction of the door was an image that she could not believe she was seeing!
“In the middle of the night, I heard our bedroom door creak open. I figured it was Lennox but it was pitch-black so I couldn’t tell. I blinked away the sleep so I could help him up into our bed. Instead, in the doorway was a set of terrifying glowing eyes and mouth. It wasn’t a random light and it was hovering only a foot or so above the ground.”
She thought it was Lennox, her toddler, but it seemed like it wasn’t him. The creature was not making any sound at all. The glowing face was gradually coming in her direction and she could not move away nor hide. Deep inside her, Angela was already praying to the Almighty to save her from whatever was coming to her.
“Now, my relationship with the Big Guy isn’t real consistent. I’m like that friend who only calls when they need to borrow money. But I needed Him NOW. I thought, ‘Lord, it’s Angela. If you’ve got any of that white light lying around would you mind sprinkling some around my bed? Leftovers can be sent to my kid’s rooms but the white light priority is right here.’”
The glowing face that terrified her moved closer and Angela was very, very terrified at that moment and was completely at her wit’s end. She was even calling angels to help her and was prepared to throat chop anyone who was about to come at her.
And then at that moment, the unknown glowing creature in the dark spoke softly:
“Mommy?”
It was her two-year-old son, Lennox!
She was undoubtedly thankful at that moment for she finally found out who the tiny creature is. After calming her racing heart, Angela eventually discovered why her son had a glowing face.
Apparently, her child was wearing a “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle” shirt and the face of the character was glow in the dark! Angela was at a loss for words but she knew she was thankful that it was not anybody who meant to harm her or her son.
In this hilarious and terrifying experience, Angela was able to realize quite a few things: how her son was capable of becoming a ninja judging on how silent his steps were despite the 120-year-old home they live in, how she nearly throat chopped her toddler and that she should stop being a “call you when I need money” friend to Jesus.
Well, just like Angela, all moms have their own moments of epic failures. And you know what? This part of motherhood is absolutely normal!
Yes, mommies may be imperfect to the rest of the world. But, she will always be the best and perfect mom to her children’s eyes, and that’s what truly matters.
