Most people have their own dreams and goals in life. However, only a few have the courage to actually go out and work on them. Sometimes, they need a subtle nudge to get them to move forward.
Caitlyn Vanbeck was influenced by her parents to audition to The X Factor UK.
At the age of 18, she was full of potential and her parents can totally see that. They wanted to have their daughter on that big stage so that she can finally work on realizing her dreams.
Caitlyn chose to perform Andra Ray’s Rise Up which happens to be one of Simon Cowell’s favorite song. Realizing that and knowing how tough Simon can be when it comes to judging, she definitely felt the pressure.
Caitlyn’s passion for music was stronger than the pressure she was feeling at that moment.
She delivered the song which so much confidence and emotion. She was able to hit not just the notes but also the emotions required to perform the song perfectly.
With her voice, Caitlyn made Nicole Scherzinger cry which is something you won’t see all the time in the competition. It was a clear indication that she was able to connect with the judges and everyone watching her on an emotional level and with just her voice.
Louis Walsh was so captivated by the performance.
“You’re my favorite singer so far. You’re the best performer, the most natural- you were born to do one thing and that was sing.” -Louis shared.
Nicole also added:
“Girl, I think you better take one of them seats home with you right now. You move me- I just want to thank you for that performance.”
Simon had the most surprising comment among the judges. He said:
“I don’t think you’re aware of how good you are. I don’t want to give you a chair, I want to give you a sofa.”
His remarks clearly made everyone in the audience so happy. With Caitlyn’s voice, there was no doubt that the toughest judge in the show would be praising her.
Caitlyn Vanbeck’s not really new to auditions and The X Factor. She was actually in the show about a year before. She even made it to the Six Chair Challenge back then.
Her second appearance to the show is just one proof that you shouldn’t stop pursuing your dreams even if you face some setbacks, challenges, and problems along the way. If you really want something, you wouldn’t allow any negative ideas to make you step back from your dreams and goals.
Instead, you should use them as inspirations and motivations to try even harder and do better next time.
Watch below to hear her sing one of Simon’s favorite song and Nicole’s “accusation” to him at the end.
