If it seems like Jimmy Fallon is always inviting the most talented musicians onto The Tonight Show, that’s because he is! But, sometimes his guests aren’t actually on the show to sing their latest hit.
As Maroon 5’s Adam Levine discovered shortly after he sat down for a chat, Jimmy had something very sneaky planned. Before the night was over, he was going to lead everyone down to Sesame Street!
But, before we get started on yet another hilarious Jimmy Fallon skit, here’s a quick word from one of the show’s sponsors:
This episode is brought to you by the letters E-I-E-I-O.

The video clip starts with Adam Levine looking like he’s very relaxed and open to discussing just about anything. However, after Jimmy pointed out that Adam was a very talented impressionist, he became embarrassed and tried to rebuff the compliment by claiming that he was nowhere near “Jimmy Fallon style.”
Well, Jimmy Fallon style is what The Tonight Show is all about. And what better way for both of them to show off those skills than face-off against each other in a silly game of Wheel of Musical Impressions!

Although the rules of the game are pretty simple, it’s sticking to the rules that’s the hard part!
Here’s how it works: when it’s their turn, one of them presses a sketchy-looking DIY button to spin the magic wheel. The left side of the wheel displays the name of a famous artist, while the right side shows an equally well-known song title.
Once the wheel randomly selects a match, the players have to attempt their best impression of that singer performing that song. Where the wheel stops, no one knows, and it’s the wild combinations that make it so funny!

Since Adam was the guest, he got to go first. However, when the wheel stopped on “Frank Sinatra” and the children’s song “Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes,” neither of them could keep a straight face!
But, then the Maroon 5 frontman composed himself and treated the audience to what sounded like Ol’ Blue Eyes doing a sweet riff of a kiddie tune. Thankfully, the lyrics were fairly simple (it’s pretty much all in the song title) because he was cracking up the entire time!

Next up was Jimmy trying to do an impression of Bob Dylan singing “Rude” by Magic! But, he was in for a rude awakening, and after a failed attempt, he told the band to stop playing when he realized it just wasn’t going to work.
He gracefully conceded that his round was a flop, and pressed the button for Adam’s next duo, which happened to be Michael Jackson singing the theme song to Sesame Street. At that point Jimmy lost it and he threw his head down on the table in hysterics.

At first Adam couldn’t seem to grasp the right key, but then he got the “smooth criminal” download and swept the clouds – and the audience – away!
When it was Jimmy’s turn to step into the role of Iggy Azalea singing “Old McDonald Had A Farm,” his eyes bulged out of his head. How was he going to pull that one off?

Jimmy is famous for bringing funny musical skits to the late night TV talk show scene, which is why earlier this year it was announced that the Wheel of Musical Impressions is now getting its own spinoff show!
There’s no set date yet as to when the first show will air, but you can be sure it’ll leave a lasting impression on music lovers everywhere.
