What would you do if your Halloween costume arrived earlier than you expected?
For mom-of-two, Somer Scandridge of Spring, Texas, it was an easy decision. She was going to surprise her daughter, Madison, as she got off the school bus.

Somer and her husband, Chris, always matched the Halloween costumes of their kids.
“Every year, my 4-year-old son and my 6-year-old daughter pick out their Halloween costumes, and whatever they pick, we match them. My husband matches my son and I match my daughter,” Somer explained.

And this year, Madison wanted to be a unicorn.
Somer describes as a “big kid for life” and it was a no-brainer for her to surprise her daughter when their costumes arrived earlier than expected.
“When I got my costume in the mail, I decided to get her from the bus stop in it,” Somer said.
So Somer put on the unicorn costume and walked to the bus stop with Hudson, their golden retriever, Lucy, while Chris filmed them from behind.
Somer got into character when she danced her way towards the stop. Chris and Hudson loved it!
“Mom, you look like a real unicorn!” Hudson shouted.

They even passed by neighbors in their cars who couldn’t help but smile at the sight of Somer as a unicorn. They knew the Scanbridge family so they knew this was going to be a surprise for Madison.
“Oh yeah, she gonna love it!” Chris told the neighbors.
The school bus had already spotted Somer in costume and was honking the horn in support.
“[Madison] told me the bus driver got on the loudspeaker and told all the kids to look at the unicorn, and they all screamed with laughter,” Somer told “Good Morning America.”

Madison was the first one off the bus and she ran as fast as she could towards her mom.
“She’s young, and I knew she would absolutely love it,” Somer told CNN.
And she’s right about her daughter’s reaction. Madison ran to her with the biggest smile on her face. She loved it!
“She got off the bus with the biggest grin on her face and ran full speed at me,” Somer added. “Her laugh from that moment is something I’ll treasure forever.”

And if you had any doubts about Madison’s love for unicorns, just look at her unicorn hairband and her unicorn backpack.
Somer posted the video on her Facebook page in mid-September to show her family and friends.
“When your daughter is young enough to think you’re still cool and not embarrassing,” Somer wrote as a caption.

Somer and Chris always do their best to have fun times with their children.
“It’s important to let them smile and be happy and do fun things, and not have an attitude,” Somer explained.
She says she and her husband do this because when the two kids get older, they might not have the same reaction anymore.

“Kids nowadays grow up too fast, and she doesn’t want her kids to be like that. Seeing Madison jump off the bus and scream, rather than walking past her in embarrassment, was meaningful,” Somer explained.
According to Somer, Madison has decided that all four of them, Somer, Chris, Hudson, and Madison will all be unicorns on Halloween this year.
