A maternity shoot like you’ve never seen before.
Maternity photos are fairly common for first-time parents, as they celebrate the approaching birth of their new bundle of joy. However, this Canadian couple decided to get creative with their maternity photo shoot, choosing an unanticipated, yet memorable theme.
Expecting parents Todd and Nicole Cameron, opted for a far from the traditional photo shoot, commemorating their favorite holiday — Halloween.
The couple who met on Halloween a few years ago were interested in a maternity shoot they could remember forever.
While the photos started out fairly normal, the frightful series took an unexpected turn, as Nicole gives birth to an alien baby in the middle of the field.
Inspired by the 1970’s sci-fi film, Alien, the couple recreated the gory scene where an alien aggressively protrudes from a human stomach. Combining fake blood and incredible acting skills, the couple produces a series of photos reflecting their eerie experience.
Followed by the birth of their alien offspring, Todd chases the intestinal-like alien around the field before the trio are eventually reunited as one happy family.
While Todd took care of the storyline and corresponding props, Nicole focused on the couple’s wardrobe, with both of them having loads of fun along the way. Their photographer and close friend, Li Carter, was not at all surprised by the couple’s offbeat theme.
Todd Cameron shared, “The funniest part for us was laying in a cold wet field, covered in fake blood and just laughing our hearts out, hoping that the farm hands wouldn’t drive by and see us in our current conditions. I have to give huge props to Nicole for shivering on a rainy day in the muddy pumpkin patch and getting splattered with blood all while eight and a half months pregnant.”
Since the doting parents-to-be have shared their maternity photos on Facebook, the outlandish images have gone viral, resulting in friends, family, and strangers from all over the world appreciating the couple’s dark humor and twisted take on being first-time parents. Currently, the couple’s maternity photos have received over 150,000 reactions and more than 300,000 shares.
While these maternity photos are particularly unconventional, there’s no denying that the couple’s originality and unique sense of humor is most definitely memorable. With their bundle of joy on its way any day now, the couple share, “We’re not sure whether it’s a boy or a girl but we’re just hoping that it’s human,” demonstrating their ability to have fun and proving they will have a great time with parenthood.
