6-year-old Claire Crosby covers ‘When She Loved Me’ from Toy Story 2

December 2nd, 2019

Claire Crosby is no stranger to social media users the world over. The little girl, with her adorable doll-like appearance and numerous song covers, has gained popularity on social media since she started singing with her father, Dave Crosby. Impressively, most of the videos uploaded to YouTube and Facebook have over a million views as well as thousands of likes, comments, and shares. The Disney fan’s love for music shows in the relaxed way she sings to and with her father, whether in a small recording space with professional equipment or by a piano beside her mom.

Some of her most popular videos include an endearing cover of “A Whole New World” from the 1992 animated Disney film, Aladdin. It was even posted on Disney’s channel. Since then, the Crosbys have shared more song covers on their channel.

Now, at six years old, Claire still holds the same love for singing and all things Disney. More than just performing with ease, she also knows how to confidently introduce herself and describe what she’s about to share with her online followers. All these can be seen in a recent video where she sang a poignant track from Pixar Animation Studios’ Toy Story 2. The film’s plot centers on Woody’s adventure as he gets separated from the other toys. As Woody finds a way to return to Andy, he meets other toys through whom he discovers are all based on Woody’s Roundup, just like him. Woody also learns of Jessie the cowgirl’s painful experience, which she tells through the song “When She Loved Me”.

Claire Crosby’s version of the song is a delight to watch. In the video, the six-year-old also had on a cowboy hat and braided pigtails, just like Jessie.

You can even see her practicing a little. After giving a brief (and charming!) introduction, Claire waited calmly for her cue as her mother began to play the familiar tune on the piano. The charming six-year-old began singing the words softly and in perfect harmony. Despite the song’s message being a sad one, Claire made it a treat to listen to.

From this video and all the others shared on the Crosbys channel, you can just tell Claire comes from a talented and supportive family. It’s seen in her eagerness to sing and share, and the loving way her parents seem to always be right by her side, encouraging her and just letting her shine in her own way.
