It’s a beautiful, summer day, and you’re out enjoying margaritas on the beach without a care in the world. But there is one problem: boob sweat.

As a smaller-chested individual, I am just recently learning that this is a serious issue for some women. Lindsey Averill of Bustle fills us in, writing:

“If you don’t experience this joy, I am here to tell you that boob sweat is worse than it seems. Sure, it’s marginally embarrassing to work out in a gym full of people with those damp Cheshire cat smiles highlighting your breasts […] But this is just the tip of the iceberg.”

Averill goes on to explain that the biggest problem with boob sweat is the potential for rashes and smells.

“Think about it,” she writes. “These are deep, dark, moist crevasses. These are breeding grounds; Petri dishes. This is your armpit— only you’ve glued your boobs to your chest with the best support you can find, so there is no escape. ”

But Erin Robertson, a woman from Los Angeles, was not about to let a case of boob sweat get her down. Instead, she came up with a solution— meet the Ta-Ta Towel!

Described by the Huffington Post as a “loungewear innovation”, the Ta-Ta Towel is basically an absorbent hammock for your boobs.

Erin came up with the idea after trying to fend off boob sweat before a warm, summer night date. On the Ta-Ta Towel website, she writes:

“I was lying in my bed thinking about all the different ways I could solve this problem… and then it hit me.”

After learning to sew with the help of YouTube tutorials, Erin put her idea to the test. She distributed the towels amongst friends, explaining:

“I started handing the towels out to my friends to get some feedback. To my wonderful surprise, what I thought was just a solution to boob sweat turned out to help other women in so many different ways.”

Erin’s website claims that the product is great at preventing the painful rashes Averill alluded to earlier, but is also popular amongst nursing moms.

She explains, “The ultra-soft rayon liner was made with sensitive nipples in mind and also absorbs any milk that might leak out during feeding.”

Erin’s towels have been taking the internet by storm, but many women just can’t decide whether they’re a) useful, or b) worth $45 USD.

Women everywhere are uploading reviews, sharing their thoughts about the revolutionary Ta-Ta Towel.

So, what do you think?

Is the Ta-Ta Towel the next big thing or just a trend that will end sooner than we think?
