You might want to grab a tissue for this one.

Pro Infirmis, a charity organization for people with disabilities, put together a project that goes beyond the limits of stereotypical beauty. The results are stunning.

When you think of mannequins in the mall or a department store — what do you think of? Tall, thin, and generally out of any normal measurement range for the majority of people. Mannequins certainly don’t represent any sort of physical abnormality.

The main idea of the project was to create mannequins based off of the body types of everyday people with physical disabilities.

Once the mannequins were created, the charity would display them alongside “normal” mannequins at a Swedish storefront.

“Between the ‘perfect’ mannequins, there will be figures representing everyone in society.”

The video that was filmed to capture the message and meaning behind this project is absolutely breathtaking — one of the most moving marketing campaigns we’ve ever come across.

People enter the studio to meet the man who would be creating a work of art inspired by them — each one with a physical disability.

The photographer asks one person to turn and look at the typical and “normal” mannequin behind him. He then explains the purpose of the project and that he will be measuring them to create their own mannequin.

The ‘models’ in the project seem a bit anxious but also excited to be taking part in such an interesting and unique project.

It’s time for measurements — each person becoming vulnerable by exposing their disabilities for the world to see.

One man missing the bottom portion of his leg, a woman with a crooked and bent spine, each person is completely unique. All of them sharing a piece of their world with us.

The photographer begins taking measurements of all of his models. Many of them are excited to see the outcome of this project, others are finding it fascinatingly curious.

“I think it must be really difficult to make a copy of this,” one woman said, referring to her curved spine.

Time passes, the measurements have been submitted, and the mannequins have been created. It’s time for the big reveal.

Each person goes to their cloak-covered, personalized mannequin, an exact copy of them, to reveal what’s underneath. The excitement and anticipation in their eyes are palpable through the screen.

The models for the project eagerly await the debut of their carbon copy mannequin. Their reactions and the public reactions are all on video.
