After a long day of walking, there are several home remedies you can use to help with any pain or soreness in your feet. There are other causes for sore feet as well, which can include plantar fasciitis, flat feet, heel spurs, and achilles tendinitis. Take a look at these quick fixes for sore feet.

Rest

A busy schedule can make it hard to sit down and relax, but sometimes doing so can be a powerful tool to ease pain. Sit down, prop up your feet, and if needed, use ice on the area to reduce inflammation. While you’re resting, you can catch up on your favorite binge-worthy shows on Netflix or read that new novel you’ve been hearing so much about.

There are many herbal treatments you can use at home. For internal applications, consider drinking green tea. The antioxidants can help reduce inflammation.

Golden Milk

Studies have shown turmeric can help relieve pain. Turmeric works to reduce swelling. To enjoy your intake of the herb, you can make golden milk. To make golden milk, you must first make a paste using turmeric powder (1/4 cup) and water (1/2 cup). Once the paste is made, you can simply add a small amount of the paste to your choice of milk, dairy or non-dairy will work.

Massage

One recommendation to relieve foot pain is to massage your feet to encourage blood flow. You can purchase a foam roller ,which can be used either hot or cold, to provide relief. To use, simply place the foam roller on the floor and use your foot to roll it back and forth over the affected area to relieve pain.

Epsom Salts

Soak your feet in a warm tub of water along with one or two cups of Epsom salt to relieve inflammation. Epsom salts contain magnesium which is known to be a natural relaxant.

Shoe Inserts

A commonly used tool to prevent sore feet is inserts. You may recognize the name Dr. Scholl’s as being one of the most popular brands. There are many varieties for you to choose from, and they can be purchased at your local pharmacy or drug store.

Stretch

Stretching sore muscles can help relieve some of the soreness and pain you are experiencing. Flex your feet in and out to stretch muscles in your feet. You can also flex your toes in and out to relieve pain as well.

Clove oil is known to be able to treat many types of pain, including sore feet. It can be mixed with a carrier oil such as olive or almond oil. You can even mix it into a non-scented lotion. Massage the oil into your feet several times a day.
