Babies all behave the same regardless of what species they are. They all need to be fed, bathed, looked after, and taught the ways of the world by their parents or caretakers.

If you or anyone you know has any doubt about that, show them this cute video below.

The star of this adorable video is a baby elephant named Yang Niu. And like any other baby out there, Yang Niu just wants to have fun as she makes her way through the world.

What did Yang Niu do that particular caught everyone’s eye?

Well, she showed off her young brilliance by sliding down a muddy hill.

And boy did it look fun!

You can see her slide for yourself in the first 20 seconds of the video below. Yang Niu handled herself with grace, and honestly, her slide was one of the smoothest slides I’ve ever seen. So cute!

The adorable footage was captured by Yang Niu’s keeper. Yang Niu resides in an Asian elephant breeding and rescue center in the Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture located in the southwest of China’s Yunnan Province.

Instead of being concerned over losing her footing, Yang Niu goes with the flow of the spontaneous mud slide by stretching out her front legs and lying down on her belly. What a quick thinker she is!

Apparently, Yang Niu enjoyed the slide so much that she slid down more slopes until she reached the bottom of the hill.

Clearly, she figured out that sliding was more enjoyable and faster than walking, and so she decided to arrive at the bottom of the hill in style.

Yang Niu enjoys splashing water, rolling on the grass, playing football and chasing her keepers. Now, she can add sliding down hills to that list.

However, Yang Niu’s history is a little saddening. The baby elephant was originally found by villagers in the wild two years ago, and she was found abandoned and injured.

She was sent to the breeding center and looked after by the keepers there. She was also bottle-fed milk from goats, which lead to the inception of her name: Yang Niu means “Goat’s daughter” in English.

Her wounds healed without any complications, and now Yang Niu is happily sliding down hills and will go on to live a fun life.

It’s lovely to hear that Yang Niu got a new lease on life, and is loving every second of it.
